CCQM-TG-NMMS Workshop on micro and nanoplastics metrology: Current status
24 to 25 February 2025
Workshop aim
The goal of the CCQM Task Group on Nano- and Microplastics Measurements and Standards (CCQM-TG-NMMS) is to develop descriptions of the evolving needs for micro- and nanoplastics metrology in the areas of environment, food, health and consumer goods, and thereby update the strategic plans of technical committees (Consultative Committees) operating within the BIPM system. The Committees focus on organizing programmes and interlaboratory comparisons to support National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and Designated Institutes in providing equivalent measurement and calibration services.
The CCQM-TG-NMMS is holding a workshop that aims to share the current status and developments of microplastics measurements and standards, to identify priority needs for metrology infrastructure in this area and facilitate exchange between stakeholders and national measurement institutes (NMIs).
This workshop will cover topics such as identification and quantification techniques and test method developments, state-of-play of regulatory activities, programs in this field within NMIs and other organizations and relevant activities within international standardization committees and other interest groups.
