JCTLM - Declaration of Cooperation between the BIPM, the IFCC and ILAC
The Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine (JCTLM) was established in response to the European Community Directive 98/79/EC on in vitro medical devices.
It was created in 2002 through a Declaration of Cooperation between:
- the International Bureau of Weights and Mesures (BIPM),
- the International Federation for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), and
- the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)
The Declaration of Cooperation was revised and re-signed in 2019, to facilitate expansion of the JCTLM Executive Committee to include additional organizations in its membership from further branches of laboratory medicine.
