On 18 November 2022 the 27th meeting CGPM approved the proposal to extend the range of prefixes for use with the International System of Units (SI).
On 18 November 2022, an election was conducted at the 27th meeting of the CGPM for all 18 seats on the CIPM. Thirteen members of the current CIPM were re-elected and five new members were elected.
The BIPM was admitted as an observer organization to the UNFCCC by the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) held in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, on 6 November 2022.
The APMP signed a practical arrangement with the BIPM on 7 November 2022 to join the e-learning initiative.
