Professor Mauro Panteghini has been elected as the Chairman of the Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine (JCTLM) by its Executive Committee during the JCTLM Annual Meeting held on December 4, 2024.

On 6 December 2024, BIPM and the OECD hosted a full-day event to explore the critical links between regulatory systems and QI. 

The BIPM is advancing dosimetry services for National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) by expanding its use of off-site facilities for calibration and comparison services.

The BIPM has achieved a key milestone in climate science by securing observer status at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). 

The BIPM has introduced a new on-demand Key Comparison of CO₂ gaseous standards in dry air, tailored to levels found from background to urban areas. This new service supports the global push to improve CO₂ emissions-monitoring and to ensure the precision of measurements worldwide.
