Dr Michael Stock has primary responsibility for the BIPM's work programme in physical metrology. This includes projects in mass and electrical metrology, focused on providing measurement services to Member States and on maintaining and improving realizations of SI units.

He is Executive Secretary of the CIPM's Consultative Committee for Electricity and Magnetism (CCEM) and of the CIPM's Consultative Committee for Units (CCU).
