Role - TC/WG chairs - CIPM MRA

The BIPM will host online technical exchanges focused on the roles and responsibilities of RMO TC/WG Chairs within the CIPM MRA framework. The first session is scheduled for the 10th of December 2024.

Overview

The CIPM MRA is essential in establishing the degree of equivalence of national measurement standards maintained by NMIs and providing for the mutual recognition of calibration and measurement results. This ensures a reliable technical foundation for governments and other stakeholders, supporting broader agreements in international trade, commerce, and regulatory affairs.

The outcome of the CIPM MRA is statements of the measurement capabilities of each NMI in the KCDB maintained by the BIPM and publicly available on the Web. RMO TC/WG Chairs play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of both the data published in the KCDB and the underlying processes that support the CIPM MRA.

This online exchange aims to support RMO TC/WG Chairs in their roles within the context of the CIPM MRA. The program includes:

  • CIPM MRA requirements (comparisons and CMCs)
  • Case reviews
  • KCDB demonstrations
  • Open sessions

Target audience

This technical exchange is intended for current and potential RMO TC/WG Chairs.
