FORUM-MD ad hoc Task Group on SI-digital Framework (FORUM-MD-TG-SIDF)

Terms of reference

The Terms of reference of the FORUM-MD-TG – SI Digital Framework (version 1.0, approved on February 21, 2025) are the following:

Membership:

• Representatives and individual scientists from NMIs members and observers of FORUM-MD with expertise in software development for metrological applications and/or development of ontologies for metrological vocabularies.
• A representative nominated by the CCU (Conultative Committee of the Units).
• BIPM staff working in the area of digital transformation of the BIPM services and databases are invited as guests.
• Experts from NMIs and from outside NMIs that have been involved in the development of the SI Reference Point are invited as guests.
• Other guests can be invited by the Chair on a one-off basis.

Members are appointed by the Chair of the FORUM-MD, in consultation with the TG Chairperson.

Chairperson:

Given the specific purpose of the TG, the chairperson is ex officio the Director of the International Liaison and Communication department of the BIPM.

Area:

The purpose of this group is to support the Digital Transformation Team of the BIPM Headquarters in the technical implementation of the SI Digital Framework.

Activities:

• To provide technical and strategic input on the SI Reference Point for its further development.
• To advise the FORUM-MD and the BIPM team on the additional elements and services to be developed for the SI Digital.
• To collaborate closely with the CCU to ensure alignment of the SI digital framework and the SI brochure.
• To advise the BIPM Digital Transformation Team on the priorities of the workplan.
• To function as a user and test group providing feedback on the needs and requirements of metrology institutes regarding the SI Digital Framework.
