Description | Methane in air |
Time of measurements | 2023 - 2024 |
Status | Protocol complete |
Measurand | Amount fraction of methane in air, with measurement results being expressed in mol/mol (or one of its multiples mmol/mol, μmol/mol or nmol/mol). 1800 nmol/mol to 2200 nmol/mol |
Comparison type | Key Comparison |
Consultative Committee | CCQM (Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance) |
Conducted by | BIPM (Bureau International des Poids et Mesures) |
Comments | The CCQM-K82.2023 comparison is designed to evaluate the level of compatibility of methane in air primary reference mixtures in the range (1800-2200) nmol/mol. The balance gas for the standards shall be either scrubbed dry real air or synthetic air. The comparison can also serve to demonstrate the purity analysis capabilities for NMIs for measurements of trace levels of methane in a variety of matrix gases. |
